Tempered laminated glass not only has the feature of greater impact resistance of tempered glass, but also possesses the characteristics of ordinary laminated glass. Even if the glass breaks, the fragments will stick together due to the effect of the intermediate adhesive layer. This effectively prevented the occurrence of debris falling incidents and ensured personal safety.
Tempered laminated glass is a special laminated glass product made by bonding tempered glass as the base material. It not only has the high strength feature of tempered glass, but also inherits the excellent safety performance of laminated glass where no fragments fall off. Tempered laminated glass is suitable for installation in places with special safety requirements, such as protective Windows of high-rise buildings, glass curtain walls, glass skylights, etc., as well as underwater glass places that are subject to certain water pressure for a long time.

The water pressure that underwater glass bears is a long-term load, so the fatigue effect of the glass should be considered. The fatigue effect can cause a significant reduction in the strength of glass. Studies show that the force state of underwater glass is related to the installation position of the glass, the support method of the glass, and the shape and area size of the glass. The force on the bottom glass is equal at all points, that is, the "evenly distributed load" effect, while the force state of the side glass is proportional to the depth, that is, the "triangular load" effect.
The support methods of glass are divided into two types: three-sided support (fixation) and four-sided support (fixation). The shapes of glass can be divided into two types: rectangular and circular. Due to the differences in these parameters, different calculation methods and correction coefficients must be adopted. Even when the water depth is the same, their force states underwater are different. Therefore, before ordering glass, we must carry out design and verification. The maximum bending stress and maximum deflection of the glass plate can be obtained through calculation. Considering the safety factor, the flexural strength of tempered glass must be less than 500kg/cm, and the maximum deflection of the glass plate surface must not exceed 1/200 of the span.

1. Tempered laminated glass should be packed in containers, assembly racks or wooden cases. Each piece of glass is packaged in plastic or paper, and the space between the glass and the packaging box is filled with light and soft materials that are not prone to appearance defects such as scratches on the glass. Each packaging box should be marked with the words "Face up, handle with care and place upright, be careful of breakage, glass thickness, grade", etc.
2 Tempered laminated glass can be transported by various types of vehicles. During transportation, wooden crates must not be placed horizontally or diagonally. The length direction should be the same as the movement direction of the conveying vehicle, and there should be rainproof measures. When handling glass, it should avoid contact and collision with hard objects. Tempered laminated glass that is not in use for the time being should be stored vertically in a dry and well-ventilated indoor area.
3 Tempered laminated glass is a kind of glass product with internal stress. After it is formed, it cannot be cut, drilled or ground at the edges, otherwise it will cause cracking and stress concentration at the edges of tempered laminated glass. It should be well protected. Do not strike the edge of the glass with sharp or hard objects, otherwise it is easy to cause the glass to shatter.
4. Before installing tempered laminated glass, it should be kept away from high-temperature exposure, high humidity and rain. The glass at the construction site should be stored in a well-ventilated and dry place. In case of sudden weather changes or heavy rain, the construction personnel should promptly inspect the site to prevent the glass packaging boxes from getting wet, which could cause water seepage and discoloration at the edges of the tempered laminated glass.
5 When installing underwater glass, it is essential to ensure that the entire system has good waterproof leakage performance. First of all, the parts in contact with water must be made of waterproof materials. Secondly, for the gaps between the glass and the metal frame, it is essential to fill them completely with sealing materials with good sealing properties such as polysulfide sealant or silicone rubber. The installation design and construction operation shall comply with the provisions and requirements of the national mandatory industry standard JGJ 113-97 "Technical Code for Application of Architectural Glass".
