Safety Glass for Railings is a type of safety glass used for glass railings, balcony railings, stair railings and platform protection systems. The product is usually composed of two or more pieces of tempered glass and an interlayer material in between. Through high-temperature and high-pressure processes, the glass and the interlayer form a stable whole.

Heat-treated glass substrate

After physical or chemical tempering treatment, handrail safety glass forms a high-pressure stress layer on its surface, making its strength 4 to 5 times that of ordinary glass. It has good resistance to bending and impact (such as human impact). When crushed, it breaks down into obtuse small particles (reducing the risk of cuts).

Sandwich structure

Two or more layers of heat-treated glass are bonded together by high-strength PVB (polyvinyl acetal) or SGP (ionic intermediate layer).

The thickness of the middle layer is usually above 1.52mm, and it needs to be thicker for high-rise buildings or areas with high foot traffic (such as 2.28mm).The transparent design enhances the aesthetic appeal of the space.
